In 2015 it was agreed that the Historical Records/Records Committee originally formed in 1878 would function under the Archives Committee whilst the Assembly Records Committee would add its functions to the Clerkship Committee. In 2022 the combined Records committee became known as the PCV Archives Committee and was formed with the Clerk as Convener. In 2023 the name changed to Archives Committee.
