JENKIN, Francis Thomas, Rev (1836-1905)
Assembly memorial minute, 1905
In recording the death of the Rev. F.T. Jenkin, the Assembly desires to testify to the esteem in which he was held as a faithful minister of Jesus Christ. The godly simplicity of his character, his lowliness of mind, his great sympathy and brotherliness, commended him to his brethren and to the people, to whom he was endeared both in this State and in Tasmania.
In the end he was visited with a long and painful illness, which he endured with the courage and the patience and the hope of a man in Christ. In suffering, as in working, he glorified God, maintaining to the end a large-hearted interest in Christian work, and eventually facing death without fear, strong in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The Assembly deeply sympathises with the bereaved widow and family, and pray that God may comfort and uphold them.
