MACLEOD, Robert William, Rev (1905-1954)
Assembly memorial minute 1954
Mr. Macleod was born at Geelong, Victoria, on 5th October, 1905. He was a son of the manse, and obtained his primary and secondary education in Melbourne. He served in Home Mission Stations in Victoria, and entered the Theological Hall, Ormond College, in 1936, and completed his Exit Year in 1938. In 1939, he was ordained and inducted at Port Augusta, South Australia. In 1941, he was translated to Port Adelaide, South Australia. He resigned from active pastorate duties in 1947.
Mr. Macleod did not enjoy robust health and, in addition, bore a full share of troubles throughout his life. He was, however, a most friendly soul, radiating good humour and cheerfulness. He possessed gifts that fitted him for special tasks, but sorrow and adversity seriously curtailed his sphere of usefulness. All who knew him will cherish him in kindly memories.
He died on Tuesday, 29th June, 1954. To his son, Roderick, the Assembly tenders sincere sympathy.
