TRUDINGER, Martin, Rev, B.A. (1883-1955)

 Person

Assembly memorial minute

Born in Yorkshire, England, in 1883. Graduated Bachelor of Arts at the University of Adelaide, South Australia, in 1917. Exit Charge: Ouyen, Victoria, in 1920. Ordained and Inducted to Birchip in 1921. Went as Missionary to Tongyung, Korea, in December 1921, returning in 1941. Inducted to Penola, South Australia, in 1942, and resigned from this charge in 1949. Died on Thursday, 1st September, 1955.

Mr. Trudinger inherited a strong zeal for missionary work. In Tongyung, Korea, he spent twenty years in keen evangelistic labours, as well as in Masan and in Fusanchin. He regretted deeply having to retire from this field in 1941 because of war conditions in Korea.

While at Penola in South Australia, his ministry was faithful and deeply sincere, although the health of his wife, and later his own health, seriously curtailed his services.

Mr. Trudinger was shy and quiet of disposition but, of deep faith and sure of his divine calling, his work was marked by endurance and tenacity.

To his two daughters, Deaconess Joyce T. Trudinger of Aula, New Hebrides, and Mrs. Lyndal Howard of Port Pirie, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
