Mr. Campbell throughout his ministry was a zealous and cheerful servant of his Master. He possessed a keen sense of his calling as a Minister which was reflected in all that he undertook.
He served, for a time, on the Lay Preachers’ Supervision Committee as convener, and as a member of the Maintenance of the Ministry Committee of the General Assembly.
During the last six months of his pastorate at Scots Church, West Footscray, he gave himself enthusiastically to planning an Inner Mission. His congregation became the first to accept the Wells Organisation Stewardship Campaign, and he shared with his people in all the strenuous work and joy of the Campaign.
Although he worked quietly, Mr. Campbell was a fearless defender of the faith, commending the Gospel to all, in sincerity and friendliness. He was a diligent pastor and a good presbyter.
Shortly after his death, Mrs. Campbell also passed away.
To their son, Mr. Russell Campbell, and daughter, Mrs. W. P. Thomas, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
