Healesville, for about twelve months. Home Mission appointment to Dookie. Ordained at Dookie on 4th May, 1923. Parishes: Dookie, from 1923 to 1930. Translated to Northcote in August, 1930. Resigned from Northcote in September, 1951. Appointed by Home Mission Committee to Mitcham in 1951. Died on Friday, 9th March, 1956, at the Manse, Mitcham.

Arthur Jones fulfilled a faithful and effective ministry. Beyond his parish his service found expression particularly in Church Extension. For many years he was a member of the Melbourne Metropolitan Presbyteries Church Extension Board, including the convenership. Likewise, for many years, ever since his induction into Northcote, he was a very active member of the Home Mission Committee, including a term as convener. He was also convener of the Boundaries Committee for the Presbytery of Melbourne North.

He was a most useful committee man, because of a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was a beloved pastor and gave devoted service to the courts and committees of the Church.

After resigning from Northcote, although past the age of retirement, and suffering increasingly from ill-health, because of the dearth of ministers, he accepted an appointment to Mitcham where he laboured for yet another six years.

To Mrs. Jones the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
