Mr. Yarnall’s calm demeanor testified constantly to a sure faith whereby he was ever persuaded that the grace of his Lord was always sufficient. His pulpit preparation and delivery were diligent and able. He was a faithful minister and pastor, well received and beloved by his parishioners.
Some time prior to his death he fell into ill-health and offered to resign, but he was requested to continue his ministry. He suffered with wonderful Christian fortitude, and maintained his natural cheerful disposition to the last.
His mind remained alert. On his last Sunday he dispensed the Holy Sacrament to the session and, from his sick-bed, gave a recorded farewell message to his people.
To Mrs. Yarnall and their son John, the assembly tender sincere sympathy.
