Mr. Laity was of a retiring nature. He was a faithful Presbyter, and a great help on account of a wealth of experience gained in country charges. Younger ministers in neighbouring charges always found his advice wise and valuable. In committee he was strong and loyal.
As a pastor he was most successful, and his work among the young was verymarked. Being gifted with the ability of making all ages feel at ease in his presence, he was always well received in the homes of his people.
To Mrs. Laity the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
