Mr. Langhorne was a gracious Christian gentleman. He was a thoughtful and arresting preacher whose interest in world missions was evident throughout his ministry. During the War years his ministry among members of the forces stationed within his parish of Warburton was deeply appreciated. Though not an active member of Assembly committees he was a faithful member of the courts of the Church.
During his pastorate of the Chinese Church, he sustained severe injuries in a motor car accident and was unable to continue his work among the Chinese. Upon recovery, however, he resumed work as a supply minister and continued almost up to the time of his death.
He attended the Surrey Hills congregation and was a minister emeritus within the Presbytery of Melbourne North.
To Mrs. Langhorne the Presbytery and the Assembly tender their sincere sympathy.
