Mr. McIlroy, after an active ministry of over 36 years, on account of failing health, resigned from active parish duties, and gave himself to pulpit supply work throughout the State. He was a devoted servant of his Lord; a good parish minister; a preacher of the Word who prepared his message with thoroughness and delivered it with the conviction of experience.
During his retirement he rendered outstanding service as a hospital chaplain.
He was a conscientious presbyter, beloved by his brethren who appreciated his wisdom when he spoke in the courts of the Church.
To his son, Albert, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
