Mr. Andrews was by trade a turner and fitter. He came to Australia as a young man and was engaged in the workshops of the Geelong Harbour Trust, Rippleside. Very early he manifested interest in work of the Churches, and became instantly an accepted preacher among infant congregations in the Geelong district, especially at North Geelong during the uncertain years of its initiation.

After some full years of parish work in settled charges about Melbourne, he resigned in 1945 and retired to a poultry farm at Croydon, where he resided for two years. During this time he gave service at Collingwood in the Group Mission. Again he accepted the responsibility of a full charge, when the Croydon charge called him. However, after five years he was again compelled to resign. Three years later he was settled at Streatham, but resigned that charge one year later. He was supplying the vacant charge of Skipton, and taking an active part in that congregation’s centenary activities, when the final illness occured.

Although Mr. Andrews was amost acceptable preacher, he will be remembered more particularly as a parish minister. Of a bright and vivid personality, he had the gift of making each one, young or old, know that he or she was his own peculiar concern for the kingdom of God. He made through his ministries many friends.

To his daughter and two sons the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
