Dr. Webster, who was born and educated in Victoria, spent only four of the thirty-eight years of his ordained ministry in this state, but served the Church with distinction in city churches in New Zealand, South Australia and Queensland. During his ministry at St. Andrew’s, Brisbane he was called to the high office of Moderator of the General Assembly.

Gifted with a remarkable memory, and diligent in study, and in preparation for his preaching he was widely regarded as a fine preacher, and had in addition to his immediate congregation a large listening congregation to his many broadcasts. He also earned the recognition of a diligent and sympathetic pastor throughout the whole of his ministry.

In 1952 he received the honour of a Doctorate of Divinity from the McGill University in Canada.

To Mrs. Webster, her son and her daughter, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
