The father of the late Rev. A.L.D. McMeekin was Session Clerk at Warrnambool, and from this home of Christian nurture Alex McMeekin went out into Home Mission Service with a view to the ministry of our Church.

He possessed a quiet and unassuming spirit: in parish work he was a devoted pastor, among fellow presbyters a brother beloved in Christ. As a minister he was a "workman unashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth”, and he exercised a beneficient influence by his wise counsel and friendship, to both young and old.

For some time he had suffered ill-health and he was granted three months leave of absence at the beginning of 1958. Because his health had made little improvement, he resigned his pastoral charge in May. He passed away two months later.

To Mrs. McMeekin, her son and daughter, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
