Mr. A.C.M. Lusted was baptised in an Anglican Church in Ashford, where his father was a master baker. He was apprenticed to the baking trade in his father’s business. As a young man he responded to a call for Christian service, and did some training in Glasgow, with the intention of work in the China Inland Mission.
The unsettled state of the times made entry into China impossible, and in 1905 Mr. Lusted came to Australia, where for four years he did home mission work in the goldfields of Western Australia.
He came to Victoria in 1909 and entered the Theological Hall at Ormond College.
Throughout his years of service in several pastorates, Mr. Lusted was instrumental in raising new buildings, beginning with a new church at Katanning, W.A. and ending with a lovely Church in Yarraville. Upon retirement in 1949, he gave faithful service in pulpit supply, and as a member of the Scots Church Session, Melbourne.
To Mrs. Lusted and her daughter, Dr. Sheila Lusted, the Assembly tender sincere sympathy.
