HUCKSON, Quinten Ernest, Rev (1917-1961)
Assembly memorial minute, 1961
Quinten Ernest Huckson was born in Tocumwal in 1917 and was brought up by his mother, his father having died en route to the first World War. Educated in Melbourne, he enlisted for service in the second World War in 1942, serving with the R.A.A.F. in England and the Middle East.
On his return to Australia he undertook Home Mission work and served in various Home Mission stations. At the end of his course at Ormond College, he was appointed to BUnyip, where he ministered for four and a half years before accepting a call to Sunshine.
Early this year he became ill, and, unable to withstand a second heart attack a few days later, he died on January 11th. His ministry was marked by earnestness, effectiveness, zeal and grace. He was a faithful pastor as well as a teacher and preacher of the Word and his family life was marked by love, understanding and helpfulness.
He leaves a wife and four children to whom the Assembly extend their sympathy.
