Mr. Ray was a minister blessed with many gifts. He was an able preacher, teacher, pastor and administrator, and under his ministry at Box Hill the congregation grew to be the largest in the State. The fruits of his experience and the results of experiment he generously placed at the disposal of the Church and many congregations have benefited thereby. He took a keen interest in the work of the Church at all levels - Presbytery and Assembly were greatly assisted by his thoughtful approach to difficult problems and his wise judgement.
He was a man of kindly and brotherly disposition, and all who knew him were the recipients of the grace of his personality. The Assembly give thanks to God for his life and ministry.
