Mr. Martin, with his Scotch background, was a steadfast adherent to the Presbyterian tradition. He was a preacher of the Word, forthright and convincing, and a conscientious pastor to his people.
He gave faithful attendance to the Courts of the Church, and assisted with the Clerkship of the Presbytery of Bendigo during his ministry at Kyneton. Mr. Martin was reserved, but outgoing in his friendship and won his way into the affection of the fathers and brethren and a wide circle of friends. For his life and service the Assembly give thanks to God.
He is survived by Mrs. Martin, and a daughter and son of a former marriage, to whom the Assembly convey their sympathy.
