Alfred Giles was a man of many gifts all of which he dedicated to the service of the Church. He was an arresting preacher, a sympathetic and understanding pastor, and a capable committee member whose wisdom was listened to by his brethren. Perhaps his finest qualities of spirit were revealed in the fortitude he displayed during his long illness, and the courage with which he persisted in his ministry until the physical could no longer respond to the spirit’s vitality.
The Assembly places on record its thankfulness to God for his life and ministry and commends his widow and family to the continuing consolation of the Holy Spirit.
