Edward Arthur Long was a minister who served with quiet efficiency and dedicated purpose. With a love for people he was a good pastor and his concern for men reached out beyond the circle of the Church’s membership. His preaching was Christ centred and always relevant to human need. He shared willingly and with ability in the administration of the greater Church, particularly as a member of the Australian Board of Missions.

He was loved by his people and his brethren alike.

The Assembly places on record its thankfulness to God for his life, ministry, and triumphant spirit and commends his widow to the continuing blessing of the Holy Spirit the Comforter.
