HUTCHINSON, William B., Rev (1837-1909)
Assembly memorial minute 1909
On 7th April, 1909, the Rev. W. B. Hutchinson, M. A., entered into his rest after a lingering illness, which he bore with Christian patience. For many years he was Minister of the Church at Scarsdale, Smythesdale and Piggoreet. He was an able preacher of the Gospel of the Grace of God, and his discourses were alike plain and profitable; hence his ministry was very helpful, and his hearers benefitted alike by his faithful exposition of the truth and his daily life and conversation. To the loyalty of a Minister of the Gospel he added the culture of the scholar, and the urbanity of a gentleman. To the end his mind was active, and he was sustained by the consolations of the Gospel, which he had so well commended to others.
