William Whatley Ingram was a gracious spirit whose life effected for good all he met. It was this strong quality that made him a man loved by all.
In the exercising of his ministry he showed appreciation for order and beauty; his preaching was sure and stimulating and his pastoral work related faithfully to the needs of all under his care, especially was this so when Chaplain of the many hospitals where he ministered.
He was called by the Church to the Office of Moderator of the General Assembly, an office he upheld with great dignity and efficiency.
Handicapped in his early days by the loss of an arm he refused to allow this in any way to affect his involvement in all the affairs of life. He played sport with great ability and in his latter years found expression for his artistic nature in tapistry work of intricate design and beauty.
All who knew him and to whom he ministered give thanks.
Mrs. Ingram who had been his constant help pre-deceased him by a number of years.
The Assembly gives thanks to God for his gracious life and full ministry and commends his son and relatives to the comfort and living hope of the Gospel.
