Shirley Anderson was a minister with a deeply sensitive spirit as is so often found in the artist. He was a poet at heart with the poets insight and concern for expression. He loved the classics. He was a lover of men and had a deep concern for the underprivileged, and a prophets anathema of the injustices of society, and the world that inflicted these injustices on mankind.
His utterances and writings arising from the blending of both poet and prophet were often misunderstood by those who could not match his insights and share the depths of his concern, and like many before him of similar spirit he suffered in the cause of his Lord.
He was a dedicated minister of Word and Sacrament and a pastor who cared for his people.
The Assembly gives thanks to God for this His servant, for his life and ministry, and commends his wife to the Grace and comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ.
