CULLIFORD, Albert Ernest, Rev. (1869-1926)
Assembly memorial minute 1926
The Rev. Albert Ernest Culliford was born 57 years ago in South Melbourne, and received most of his education at the schools there, while he grew up in connection with the Dorcas Street congregation. He early desired to become a minister of our Church, and was fortunate in obtaining the opportunity of visiting and continuing his theological studies in Scotland after his Hall course here.
His first settlement was at Millicent, South Australia, and later he served in many charges in Victoria. He served the New Zealand Church for some years and thereafter moved to Tasmania, where for seven years he did strenuous work at Hagley and Longford, and at times was the only ordained minister on the North and West Coast.
While here his health gave way, culminating in a bicycle accident shortly after his resignation from that charge. He married quite late in life, and though carefully tended by his wife, he never rallied, and passed away at Launceston on April 28th.
The Assembly expresses its sympathy with his widow, and prays that God may comfort her in her loss.
