MOORHEAD, George Stuart, Rev. (1860-1936)
Assembly memorial minute 1936
Mr. Moorhead passed away on 5th April, aged 76. Both on his father’s and on his mother’s side he had an ancestry of ministers who, in their day, did fine service for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Mr. Moorhead was trained for the ministry in Queen’s College, Belfast, and in the Assembly’s College there. After accomplishing a brief ministry in Ireland he was sent by his Church to Queensland. He continued his work in New South Wales and Tasmania.
In Victoria he was minister of Kyabram, Wallan, Windermere, Meredith, Heathcote and Framlingham. He retired from the active ministry in 1921. In all his charges Mr. Moorhead was held in the highest respect. He did his work with ability and devotion. He was a kindly Christian gentleman with a genius for friendship.
The Assembly extends its sympathy to his son and daughters.
