ADAMSON, Andrew, Rev., B.A. (1860-1915)

 Person

Assembly memorial minute 1916

The Assembly records, with regret, the death, on 3rd August, of the Rev.Andrew Adamson, one of its pioneer missionaries in Korea.

Mr. Adamson came from the Presbyterian Church of England, and was appointed as Fellowship Union Missionary to Korea in 1894. For twenty years he carried on his work with great vigour and success. He faced the difficulties of a pioneer with courage and endurance, and by his ability and judgment he formed strong congregations in his large parish. He was courteous and lovable in character, and by his sympathy and interest in the Koreans he gained their esteem and affection in a very high degree.

The Assembly expresses its sympathy with his sorrowing widow and children, and prays that God will comfort and support them in their sorrow.
