Biography
The Home Mission Committee commenced in 1859 with convenors:1859 Rev C Moir, 1861 Rev AD Kininmont, 1869 Rev A Robertson; 1876 Rev A MacVean; 1877 Rev Dr Macdonald; and 1883 Rev DS Maxwell/S Robinson.
In 1883 the Substantiation Fund and Church Extension Committees were consolidated with the Home Mission Committee. Then in 1949 the Substantiation Fund merged with the Stipends Board to create "Maintenance of the Ministry Committee".
Between 1977 and 2008 the Home Mission Committee also took on the functions of the Architectural Committee. In 2006 the Home Mission Committee was divided into two new committees - Church Planting Committee and Healthy Churches Committee (only lasted 1 year).
